About  Bucks County Performing Arts Institute
PROJECTS:
In it's first year, BCPA awarded six music scholarships and it subsidized the Bucks
County Choir. On September 29, 2001, we conducted a choir workshop and concert
with American conductor/composer Moses Hogan of New Orleans, then a holiday
concert in which the Choir performed Howard Thompson's Cantata, "Song of the
Angels" and a spring Scholarship Concert featuring students of the Hellyer Performing
Arts Center, and the ' 01 & ' 02 scholarship winners.

At this year's Scholarship Concert we awarded eight Music Merit Scholarships which
included two college awards! Additionally funds were set aside to begin the Hollenbach
Hellyer Endowment Fund which will help us establish and maintain funding for
scholarship awards in years to come.

Our goal each year is to increase the number and dollar amount of scholarships,
further develop the program for the Bucks County Choir who performed throughout
December '02 at Shady Brook Farm, performed Bach's Cantata #4 at Grace Church in
April of ’03, Schubert’s Mass in G in April of ‘04 and will be performing Handel’s
“Messiah” with the Northeast Oratorio Society and the Chestnut Hill Orchestra
throughout Dec. of 2004; The Bucks County Children’s Chorus (a community music
program for children and ‘tweens’) and obtain funding to provide more opportunities
for 'children-at-risk' to attend early childhood music classes that nurture better music
and academic skills in children and improve the parents skill and pleasure in parenting.

BENEFITS TO THE COMMUNITY:
The scope and range of programs which the BCPA are able to initiate and implement is
unlimited. The focus of BCPA currently, is on the scholarships and choir. But through
grants and donations from private and public sources, programs will be added that
reach out to more people in the community - bringing the benefits of early childhood
music programs to single mothers and children ‘at risk’, drama and drama therapy
programs for area youths, and partnership programs with other non-profit
organizations to ‘uplift’ the lives of more people through performing arts initiatives.

HOW YOU CAN BENEFIT:
You (or your child) may be in need of scholarship assistance to fully develop their
budding talent. As we grow, we’ll be better able to provide that assistance. You may
know of a situation where a performing arts program would develop the teamwork,
poise and self-esteem needed to break the cycle of ‘failure- behavior ’ for area youth.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:
Share yoour ideas with us. Volunteer to help at an event. Tell Family, friends and co-
workers about our goals and encourage donations. (
Tax exempt in accordance with IRS
tax regulations.)
Have your employer sponsor a program and gain prestige and public
recognition as 'community-minded' business.
